PASSION PROJECTS

My passion projects are where my heart meets action. These volunteer and pro bono initiatives allow me to give back, support communities, and contribute to people that matter deeply to me. Through these projects, I strive to foster connection, inspire growth, and create meaningful change beyond the professional world, for generations to come.

WORLD INDIGENOUS TOURISM ALLIANCE (WINTA)

As part of my commitment to supporting Indigenous communities globally, I work with the World Indigenous Tourism Alliance (WINTA) on a pro bono basis. My contributions include providing governance co-ordination and support, and assisting the Board with strategic projects. Through my efforts, I aim to help WINTA create meaningful opportunities for Indigenous peoples to share their stories and connect with the world while preserving their traditions for future generations.

MOHINUI MARAE, NORTHLAND NEW ZEALAND

My connection to my Māori heritage, whānau (family), marae (meeting place), iwi, and hapū (tribes) is deeply important to me. Over the past four years, I’ve proudly served on the Marae Rebuild Committee, supporting its renovation after eight years of closure. Following its reopening in August 2024, I was honoured to become a Trustee and Co-Treasurer. It is a privilege to serve my community, honour my ancestors, and keep the fires burning for future generations.

HONO . TRAVEL

Hono Travel was born from my personal journey of reconnecting with my Māori heritage. This start-up business supports Māori who feel disconnected from their whakapapa, iwi, or hapū, (geneology and tribal affiliations) offering a safe and guided path to rediscover their roots. Through meaningful tourism experiences - walking the lands of tūpuna (ancestors), hearing stories, and embracing cultural identity - Hono Travel provides a gentle way to reconnect to self. Inspired by my own transformative journey, it’s an honour to help others proudly embrace, connect and be proud of their Māori identity.
